100x18M stainless steel, used by Zlatoust knifemakers added. According to some claims it is Latrobe BG-42 equivalent, although the composition is different, no Vanadium, addition of Nickel and Titanium. Not really like BG-42. Like most of the knfie steels quite old, has been around since mid 1960s. Well, see for yourself - BG-42 vs. 100X18M steel composition comparison.

Thanks to cotdt again, got the update on Niolox. First off, it is not French, but German steel, second now I know the name of the maker :) It is made by Lohmann.

The famous, or infamous Furi knives... My first review of their Chinese cleaver, which they label as Chopper/Cleaver. I hope some misguided soul will not use it as a meat cleaver. Well, I didn't have to say much of a good things about it, soft steel, not very comfy... I really dislike their misleading marketing too. Details in the review.

That folder had three trips to three different makers to beoome what it is now. First rehardening with Phil Wilson, then resurfacing with Richard J. and then regrinding with Tom Krein. It took almost 7 months to get it done. Well, I've learned a lot and other rehardenings and resharpenings went went quicker. However, now it is as close to a perfect cutter as it can be today. Super steel, super hard and with very efficient grind. Read details in the review.

Fixed notes for the 0170-6C steel, a.k.a. Carbon V. Specifically, old notes stated that the steel was made by Camillus, when in fact it was made for them. Special thanks to BF's knarfeng for finding it.
