Sample knife received from Chroma cutlery, in response to earlier negative reviews. 2014 Model P02 Santoku did work levels above the old batch. Overall, outperformed mainstream western knives, and was in the same league with Global knives I've tested before. Not really surprising considering that both, Type 301 steel and CROMOVA 18 steel are both based on the Aichi AUS-6M steel.

After more than 6 months of waiting, finally Spyderco Tatanka arrived. I know it was a big knife, but when I opened the box it still felt bigger than expected. Especially the handle. I really like the blade geometry, and Takefu VG-10 stainless steel is always a solid choice, although one could definitely do better. Review coming soon.

More than hundred new names added during last 2 weeks. More than half of those are W-Nr and DIN tool steel names, and somehow I was sure I had most of them covered. Doug up one more steel maker form France, Akers, added most of their tool steels and high speed steels as well. Pain in the a$$ to be honest, they do not list equivalents on their site, had to search individual compositions one by one to find what group they belong to.

After last few days of intensive steel data source scouring, 6000 mark has been surpassed :) That's a lot of alloys. Did major data integrity check today, found a few errors, obviously fixed them all. I'll probably add new standards as well.

New design, or perhaps an evolution of Benchmade 940 Osborne. Has been out for some time, but I wanted something better than CPM S30V steel, which is a very solid knife steel on its own. Eventually, KnifeWorks had an exclusive run of Contegos, in Bohler-Uddeholm M390 steel. That was in December 2013. Have been carrying since then, and finally managed to allocate time to collect notes and compile a review.

Had it for a while, but never had time to finish the review properly, usage section was empty. Well, not it's not. I suppose it wasn't a good idea to put few years of use in great detail, but condensed summary is there, including what i had to do to maintain the edge. Overall, exceptional performer in the kitchen. Fun to use, very easy to maintain. Details in the review.

One more custom knife from Phil Wilson. I've picked it up as is, it's not my design, or changed in any way. Superb cutter, easy to use. Bohler-Uddeholm K294 steel from which it is made was one of the reasons I wanted to have it, and the blade geometry is different from most of the utility knives I have. Interesting piece, and a real workhorse. Details in the review.
