Got exciting news from Amy-O today, Hog Muck I got on last ganza was shipped, I'm really bad with Busse ganzas, constantly forget time differences, etc, but this is the second time I got lucky ;) Pix on arrival...

CTS-20p steel was strangely missing from the knife steel composition chart. Strange, considering the amount of the time i've spent on Carpenter's website sifting through the steel specs and diagrams. Anyway, it's an alias of Carpenter 420CW steel. It's there now.

It's a present for a friend, but I get to play with it for a few days and I'll sharpen it as well. It does have a sharp edge, but it has more of a V type than convex edge and I can definitely polish the edge and shinogi mucho better. Interesting knife, very good quality, Takefu V2 steel hagane at 63-64HRC, with stainless jigane.

The knife arrived today. Packed in black/red box. Looking pretty cool. Mucho bigger than anticipated, even though I knew it was a big one. Titanium handle is nice, CPM S30V steel blade is pretty sharp, lockup very solid. Can't say I like it more than BM 710 folder, but it's a good knife in the end.At lest from the first looks.

Ordered a while back. Got the notice it was shipped. My first Spyderco knife ever actually. They're excellent knife company and very popular in the world, but I never was into them, very specific designs to my taste. Dunno why I liked that one either, Spyderco Military has been around for ages. Let's see how it turns out.

Several alloy names were fixed, and couple maker's names were also misspelled. Made some progress on android steel chart application as well. Coming together pretty nice. Still need to finish the synchronization piece, but at least I am half way through...

There's several knife review listings like all custom knife reviews, all kitchen knife reviews, etc. Review order was as entered in DB, now it's sorted alphabetically for each maker or brand. Plus, added padding to make the list more readable.

Work is being super busy... Can't get much time to do anything, including weekends :( Added few more JIS and DIN names today, whatever I managed in small breaks. If I get this weekend off, I sure hope to finish knife steel chart for android, or move closer to the finish considerably.

AISI T4 high speed tool steel had incorrect DIN standard name, fixed that, and added Russian GOST standard name. Added few other DIN and W-Nr names as well. At the moment, chart has 2900 names, closing on 3K mark rapidly. Bad part is, I don't get any serious time to finish android steel chart 2.0 :(

A little data form the history. Mushet Steel was the first ever official tool steel, invented by Robert Forester Mushet. Experiments with it led to the development of high speed tool steels later on. This is a grand father of modern tool and high speed tool steels, and as such, it definitely deserves being in the knife steel database, even though nobody uses or produces it in its original composition.
