One more Miyabi 7000MC knife, this time the shortest knife in that line. ZDp-189 steel used to make the 7000MC series of knives is mainly what makes them interesting to me. Although, I am not so fond of the utility knives, since I can't find much of the use for them, I still tried my best to use it for bunch of things. Details in the review.

One more borrowed knife for sharpening and evaluation, and one more Sur La Table exclusive knife too. SG2 steel, at 63HRC is really good for sujihiki, or a slicer and quality/craftsmanship are really good, just what you'd expect from Miyabi. I'd be happier if it had ZDP-189 steel, but then again, it's not my knife and after all it's still a lot better performer than more expensive counterparts fro mnenox. Can't say it's the best bang for the back either.

Another overdue review, but better late than never. Aritsugu fugubiki, which was my first fugubiki actually.Went through the notes collected during over a year period of its use, played with it again and the results is there. I really like it. Slim, slender, it's a cutting machine, incredibly sharp and super hard steel. Details in the review.

Haven't seen it for a while, then, G-48 santoku ended up with me once again, to get sharpening job done. I guess I forgot what it was since then :) Anyway, sharpened, played with it a little. It's a weird santoku, come to think of it, the point, blade geometry, etc. Still, it's a good knife fro average guy concerned with quality knives. It wont' match performance of the true Japanese style santokus, but for westernized knife, it's pretty good.

For several name records W-Nr names were listed as DIN standard names. Both are German, but standards are different.

One of the best looking knives in my quite large kitchen knives collection, and one of the best performers as well. What more would you ask form a knife, or any other tool for that matter. Had it more than a year, and this was one of the backlogged reviews to post. The new handle is still in making process with Stefan, but other than that, the knife is just super.

Finally I did it :) For Android smartphones, 1.6 and higher, the chart or database application is out. It's a snapshot of October 5, 2010, later I'll add online synchronization. Most of the online functionality from the Interactive Knife Steel Composition chart is there, including comparison graphs.

While I was getting new site up broke reviews. Seemingly unrelated code change, somewhere else... While at it, also found and fixed broken image links in Shun DM0718 Classic Santoku Review, and Furi Cleaver Chopper Review.
