Sharpening System, is a device that helps the operator(scientific name for the guy who's doing the sharpening) hold the consistent angle during the sharpening process. That's pretty much it. Come to think of it there aren't that many different types of devices out there doing this job. Although, most of the manufacturers do make at least one. Edge-Pro, Spyderco Sharpmaker, Lansky system, DMT edge aligner which is similar to Lansky, and DMT V angle which is similar to Sharpmaker. Perhaps there are more. I haven't used most of them. Whatever I have used is below. Edge-Pro and Sharpmaker.
