SF27(?) - Spray formed version of D2 steel. Interesting additions is Nitrogen, not present in the original D2 spec. Should have about 1.5 times the wear resistance compared to D2 steel, that's according to one maker claiming exclusivity on SF27. No other info yet, although Nitrogen is a welcome addition to any knife steel. Maker is unknown as well, same source cites well known steel manufacturer, but undisclosed, so go figure how well known :) If naming is any indication, then the only other alloy I have in the knife steel database with SF prefix is Outokumpu SF.100, but that far from solid info, just a guess.

Manufacturing Technology - SF

Country - United Kingdom(UK)
